WhatsApp replies are charged again after 1,000 a month per number
Since 1 October 2026, Meta charges for messages businesses send inside the 24-hour customer service window. Each business number gets 1,000 free service messages (free-form replies) a month; after that, each delivered reply is charged at the Utility rate of the customer's country. Utility templates sent inside an open chat are charged too, and Marketing rates rose in several markets, including the UAE, Saudi Arabia and Kuwait. Messages your customers send you stay free. Keep a payment method on your WhatsApp account: without one, replies stop being delivered once the 1,000 free messages are used. Our help article "Lower your WhatsApp bill" explains how to keep the cost down.
